Wholesale Furniture, Antique Reproductions, Import Furniture

About Us

River Forks Imports is located in Geneva, Alabama, USA, and has been a major producer, importer, and supplier of quality, hand-crafted antique reproductions and contemporary furnishings since 1991. We are a WHOLESALE company, selling to furniture stores and antique dealers ONLY.

River Forks offers household furnishings including complete bedroom and dining room sets. We have armoires, chairs, sofas, plant stands, oil paintings, mirrors, lamps and accessories in a variety of classic furniture styles including Chippendale and Victorian.

Currently, we offer over two thousand products manufactured from mahogany, teak, pine, rattan, bamboo and other exotic woods. Our primary factories are in Indonesia, where the wood for our furniture is first kiln dried then hand-carved by local village craftsmen. In addition, we carry an extensive selection of furniture and accessories manufactured in China.

A Word About Our Solid Wood Construction

River Forks Imports proudly produces solid wood furniture made by skilled craftspeople. Exterior surfaces are constructed primarily of the finest solid woods shaped into parts and assembled to create panels and tops. However, there are some situations where solid wood is not practical, and quality can be enhanced by using other fine construction methods. We would like you to know about these exceptions.

WALL SYSTEM SIDES AND CURVED PANELS:
When it comes to the large vertical panels in these pieces, solid wood expansion and contraction is likely to present problems over time. The greater lengths can lead to warping on end panels of entertainment centers and wall units. Curved table skirts and other curved pieces are sturdier and more stable when plywood is used.

BACK PANELS:
Plywood, much thinner and lighter than solid wood, is used on these pieces to keep a piece sturdy without adding excess weight. Plywood is stronger than the pressed hardboard material used by many of our competitors. This significantly reduces shipping costs and makes the furniture much easier to move into your home.

BED RAILS:
Because of the heavy hardware attachments needed for our mattress support system, the majority of our bed rails incorporate plywood for optimum performance and stability over time.

INTRICATE CARVINGS AND DETAIL
Carving of any sort, whether by hand or machine is an expensive task. Many of our carvings are done by hand by talented craftspeople, some by machine, and a few are molded from a wood product that allows for incredible detail at an affordable price. In addition, some carved ornamentations are cut separately and affixed to the furniture piece.
